"Math was always a challenge for me. I continually struggled to understand many math
concepts and I had to work extra hard in order to understand even the fundamental
meaning. I was not at all confident in the math area. I remember the first day I walked
into Mrs. Warner’s classroom for eighth grade math. I was terrified. I had signed up for
“honors” math and I wasn’t sure if I was capable of success in the class. My seventh
grade year of math was a complete roller coaster, and I wasn’t sure if I could hold on
another year. However, Mrs. Warner always greeted our class with a friendly smile and
would do all she could to help each individual student to do well. I think what really
helped me the most was when she would teach a concept she would have multiple ways
to explain it. If I didn’t understand how she taught it the first time, she always had
another way of explaining that same concept. It was really helpful to me because I am a
very visual learner, and sometimes the formulas/concepts just wouldn’t stick in my mind
the first time. The main thing I would say is that I absolutely loved Mrs. Warner not only
for her unique ability in teaching math, but her passion for student learning, her kindness,
and her persistent efforts to help me succeed and to feel achievement through my
everyday efforts. Junior high was not always a fun place to be, but her class was always a
bright spot in my day. Thanks Mrs. Warner for all you do!"

"I loved being taught by Mrs. Warner. In my family, we call her a "Math Wizard." This is because she has such a gift of understanding math so well, and being able to teach and explain it in a way that helps everyone she's teaching understand it as well. I always appreciated how she always made sure everyone was understanding the subject before moving on. She explains the same subject in multiple ways to ensure that everyone understands and has their favorite way of doing it. I really liked that not only would she tell us the formulas, she would also explain why the formulas work. This helped me understand why I was doing something, which helped me do it better. Mrs. Warner loves math and teaching, and it shows. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that wants to learn."
